From the Clemens F.A.Q.

My health is poor, what if I need a doctor?

Clemens is affiliated with a Tourist Doctor we can call if necessary

But if I get ill in the middle of the night? What then?

Don't panic, even when the reception is closed, there is always someone in the hotel. Just knock on reception door.

I am vegetarian, will I starve?

No, definitely not! Amsterdam has many restaurants, & almost all cater to vegetarians

I want to visit the Red Light area, is it safe?

Yes. But please do not take photos in the red light area or you & your camera will end up swimming in a canal.

Can I visit your Queen?

No, but you can visit the Queens Palace which you can see from the balcony of Clemens. Well worth a visit.

What shal we DO today in Amsterdam???

So, after months of dreaming & saving & planning, at long last you arrive in Amsterdam..and are suddenly at a loss as to what to do.

Happens very often, don't panic!!!

Many people have the time & opportunity to extensively plan their vacation destinations, mapping out a schedule each day.

For the rest of us, it is a case of dreaming, and then suddenly you arrive at your destination and are at a complete loss as what to see, do with your well earned vacation time.

There is so much to see & do in Amsterdam.
A mistake visitors regularly make is to try & do too much in a short period of time.
My advice is: You are on holiday! Make a list of your priorities and try then to do half!

On your return visit to Amsterdam you will know then exactly what you want to do & see.

Should you decide to take in some Art & Culture:
The below link is interesting as it gives the exhibitions information.

Amsterdam Museums

Amsterdam has some fifty museums which
attract many millions of visitors each year. The main ones are....

"What should we do today?"

I suggest you have a look at the link below.
Alternatively, I am in the reception every day and love nothing more that helping you plan your day.
Depending on your interest, the weather (!) your pocket book, we can help you plan anything from a day at the beach, a historic walk in the Jordaan area, a visit to the many antique markets to an extensive shopping trip that wont break the bank!

I enclose also a link to another very informative site on Amsterdam.
From the best way to get around Amsterdam to advice on The Club Scene of Amsterdam, this is a really informative site with links and advice second to none!
Whether you're shopping, sightseeing, or just going cross town, you're bound to end up at the recently remodeled Dam Square sooner or later.

Quoted from the below link, read more on this fascinating square.
A warning, however! For all you ladies out there packing your suitcases for Amsterdam, beware the cobbles on the streets of Amsterdam! Killing on the feet if you are wearing high heels, so be sure to pack some nice comfy walking shoes!
